Itinerary
Expand allDay 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Tagounite
Departure from Marrakech in the morning, heading south toward the desert. The route crosses the High Atlas Mountains, offering panoramic views of valleys and traditional Berber villages.
A stop is made at Ait Benhaddou, where you can explore its historic ksar and learn about its cultural significance. The journey continues through Ouarzazate and along the Draa Valley, known for its palm groves and ancient kasbahs.
Arrival in Tagounite in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at the guesthouse, Les Palmeraies.
Day 2: Camel Trekking and Wadi Naam
After breakfast, the desert journey begins with a camel trek across the Oued Draa. The route covers approximately 10 kilometers and takes around three hours, passing through a varied landscape of dunes, dry riverbeds, and tamarisk trees.
A pause is made for lunch in a shaded area, allowing time to rest and enjoy the quiet of the desert. Along the way, there may be opportunities to observe nomadic families and their herds.
In the afternoon, the journey continues toward Wadi Naam, a traditional meeting point for nomads located near a desert well. Dinner and overnight in a nomadic camp under the open sky.
Day 3: Hamada Crossing and Erg Chegaga Dunes
After breakfast, departure by 4x4 across the Hamada, a vast and rugged stone desert that contrasts sharply with the soft dunes.
A stop is made at a secluded oasis, where lunch is served in the shade of palm trees. This quiet location offers a moment of calm before continuing deeper into the Sahara.
By late afternoon, arrival at the dunes of Erg Chegaga. Rising up to 300 meters, these dunes form one of the largest and most remote dune systems in Morocco.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional folk music performance followed by dinner. Overnight in nomadic tents at the desert camp.
Day 4: Return to Tagounite and Cultural Discovery
After sunrise and breakfast in the desert, departure by 4x4 back toward Tagounite.
Upon arrival, lunch is served at the guesthouse. The afternoon is free to explore the surroundings, including nearby kasbahs and desert landscapes. For those interested, an optional visit to a traditional hammam can be arranged.
Dinner and overnight stay at Les Palmeraies.
Day 5: Return to Marrakech
After breakfast, departure for Marrakech. The return journey follows the same scenic route, allowing time to reflect on the experience.
Arrival in Marrakech marks the end of the tour.

At the end of the tour in New York the bus will drop you off in Times Square on 42nd Street. We do not return to the meeting point.
